You can read more about our goals in the Newsletter section of this website, but here is a quick bird’s eye view of our progress at this point in time.

We are reaching a point of maturity in our organization, as we begin our 5th year of operation.  We have turned the corner in many ways.  We’ve stabilized our operating plans over the past four years and continue to grow at a swift pace!  In addition to our home office here in Osseo, Minnesota, our board approved opening a branch office in Dodoma, Tanzania in mid 2007 (this is known as an NGO- Non-Governmental Organization in Tanzania).  The poor villages we support surround this central-Tanzania city.  Two wonderful people from that area run this branch office.  Our growth has already forced us to double the size of our initial office (from 120 square feet to about 265 feet).  Last year, we purchased a used 1995 Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, which our people now use to get from village to village.  We go to Dodoma once a year in September and review first-hand what has been accomplished in the past year.  We then develop plans for what should be done in the next 12-month period.  These plans are then brought to our annual board meeting in late October where they are discussed and modified for final board approval along with a budget for the coming year.

We are at a pace now that requires two fund drives each year to support program needs.   We were certified very early in 2008 by the Charities Review Council after meeting all 16 of their stringent accountability standards for credible non-profits on a continuing basis.  You can find out more by clicking their seal below which will take you to their website.

Abbott Labs continues to be a very strong partner of ours in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  We completed a 14-month pilot program at the end of 2008 which Abbott contributed $14,000 to support..  They visited our staff in Dodoma and reviewed the results of the pilot program.  Based on the good work, Abbott pledged another $20,000 to enhance this very detailed program for 2009.   We just received word they have approved another $20,000 for 2010, which will now cover 150 victims and 100 orphans of victims.  We feel so very fortunate to have Abbott Labs with us on this very important effort!!

The demand for water and other support is incredible.  Our staff in Dodoma received multiple written requests and applications from 25 villages in just the past two years and the list keeps growing.  So you can see the need is virtually endless.  We try to visit one or two new villages each year during our trip in September with the intent of selecting the next village we will support.  Based on our visits this past September, we have decided to work with Matumbulu next as our fourth village.  You can get more information about this village and the others we are developing by visiting the NewsCenter or clicking on the village name in the map below (note the three villages receiving HIV/AIDS support).  We’re finishing the water work in Kisima cha Ndege and continue to help Chisichili and Mtumba.

We hope you take this opportunity to visit the other portions of our beautiful website. We are constantly trying to improve it, making it easier to bring you the message about what's happening. You are most welcome to join us on this wonderful venture, with your prayers, your physical presence, and/or your financial help. You can even DONATE NOW on our website!
